After the success of Jerry Maguire, Jeremy became a hot ticket for Hollywood movies in need of a cute kid, and though he continued to go to school and live as normally as possible for an elementary school movie star he also was frequently pulled out of school for auditions and filming. His movies did well in theaters, especially with preteen audiences, but his absences didn't help him at school, where he didn't have an abundance of friends to begin with. He enjoyed acting however, and stuck with it until he turned twelve, when he decided he wanted to just be a normal kid, at least for a while. Middle school might not have been the best time for him to decide to go back to school -- Jeremy hit his growth spurt early and went from being a small scrawny weakling to a tall gangly one, frequently picked on by jocks in training, not smart enough to earn the protection of the nerds, and from too universally rich an area to be able to buy friends. Although he was eager to make friends, he floated from one social clique to another without making many lasting connections. In high school, the track and field team seemed like an easy way to find some friends (and to be fast enough that he could escape anyone trying to shove him into a locker). Through his training he was introduced to weight lifting and then to boxing, which he took to almost instantly. Working out was his new obsession and he trained as much and as often as he could, until he was strong and fast enough that any of his classmates would think twice before trying to pick a fight with him. He continued to train after high school and began low level competitive boxing while attending the University of Southern California, where he caught the attention of a small fitness magazine who approached him to do a spread for their publication. When the photos hit the internet and word spread that the adorable kid from Stuart Little had grown up into a total stud, people couldn't stop talking about it. Even his old agent reconnected with him to ask if he was sure he wasn't interested in giving acting another shot -- he was close enough to graduating that he could finish school first, but if they jumped on his new wave of popularity while people were still talking about him, they could make him a star. By the time he finished at USC he was already in negotiations for his return to the silver screen in a horror flick, which he followed up with a small part in a war movie and a starring role in the movie adaptation of the Vampire Academy young adult fiction series, which failed miserably. Jeremy was undettered by his lack of a breakthrough though, because while his movies weren't doing fantastic, his social media presence was thriving to the point where people still wanted to see him in things even if they weren't any good. Even though he wouldn't have minded losing the constant association to his old work -- not one interview or television went without a mention of it, usually accompanied by someone quoting classic lines at him -- but he never complained, knowing how lucky he was to be in his line of work. It was pretty interesting that the human head weighed eight pounds, after all. + diagnosed with body dysmorphia in his early twenties and is prone to bouts of overexercise and undereating if he doesn't stay on top of it. his normally super active instagram feed will sometimes stop without warning for weeks because he worries he's gotten too out of shape for his normal barrage of shirtless selfies + is still and probably always will be known for being hot more than for being a good actor, but he's not looking to bring home an oscar either |
